This week is shaping up to be quite a long one, so what better way to relax than watching some cool videos? A short commentary after each one.
I’ve always had a thing for timelapses and with the new cameras we have it is becoming increasingly easier to make ones like this.
Aaaahhhh, love. Complicated stop motion brings out our emotions so effortlessly and makes us feel great and want to be better.
Man, this Cape Verde video gives me sodade. Sodade = a yearning or longing for something special.
This video was filmed on the same type of camera that I have, the Canon Rebel T2i. Man it’s amazing what you can make on the gear that is available to everyone these days. This is just a snip of a 30 minute feature.
Sorry about no HD on that one. But since it has Utah in the title and I’m from Utah it had to be great, haha. No, but it really does have a nice little story to it.
And finishing up with another time lapse. I could never tire of these things, they are just to visually appealing, too beautiful. I hope you all enjoyed this here round of videos. Maybe in the future I’ll make this a regular thing of posting awesome videos like these.
So this past week has been really crazy. I’m coming along with the animation, but I haven’t been able to do a lot of things. On Tuesday I got hit hit with a cold that just hasn’t left me alone. And one of my co-workers has quit and I’ve taken up most of his hours, which is a lot and that doesn’t leave me with any time to animate. But it should be better after this Thursday.
Also this past week wrapped up the online fundraiser I was doing for Help Cape Verde Africa. We didn’t even get close to our goal, but I am really thankful for those that believed in us and still believe in our cause. We had over 5,000 views, but only 8 people donated, and those 8 people are freaking awesome in my book.
Sorry it’s been almost a week, had a lot of stuff going on. But now I am back. After giving some thought I decided it would be worthwhile and fun to do an animation in After Effects CS5. I’m going to be doing this because I need the experience of creating something and also to add a little flare to the next video I plan to do for my nonprofit. So far it’s mostly been watching tutorials to find out what I want to do, but I have decided on one element and have started the necessary parts in Photoshop. So here we go, it should be fun.
